Deni received her Master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of California, Long Beach and has worked as a mental health therapist in the Sacramento area since 1994.
After four years at a non-profit mental health agency specializing in family therapy, Deni opened a private practice in Elk Grove in 1998 as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). Since that time she has assisted many individuals and families from the growing Elk Grove and surrounding communities.
Over the years in her practice, Deni developed the specialty of working with children and parents of divorce. Witnessing the devastation that high-conflict divorce has on children led Deni to join the budding Collaborative Divorce movement. She received the specialized training to perform both as a Divorce Communication Coach and a Child Specialist. She served on committees to establish protocols and practice for both Coaches and Child specialists.
Since 2008, Deni has been part of the Sacramento Collaborative Practice training team that trains attorneys, therapists and financial specialist throughout the Western United States in the methods of Collaborative Divorce.
Deni has been trained as a mediator and works as a Private Confidential Mediator. She co-mediates with attorney/mediators to help clients resolve interpersonal and family issues. Deni served as the Clinical Director for Another Choice, Another Chance, a dual diagnosis program for adolescent youth from 2004 to 2011. Currently she is a Clinical Supervisor at Visions Unlimited where she supervises MSW and MFT interns.
Deni received her certificate in Spiritual Direction from Morei Derekh Spiritual Direction Program in 2011. She runs a spiritual direction group at her synagogue as well as sees directees individually. She also brings an interfaith spiritual awareness to all of her counseling work.
